David Cook is on the South Carolina Highway Patrol. He is a volunteer firefighter with the Allendale Fire Department and has been proudly serving his community for over 20 years.

Milledge Tyler is a firefighter with the Aiken Department of Public Safety. He has been proudly serving for 20+ years in Aiken, SC.

CFO Darren Woo presents Chris Garcia with his recipient's check. Chris is a career firefighter with Augusta Fire. He works his shift "every third day" despite battling Multiple Myeloma which is a painful and debilitating cancer caused almost exclusively by environmental exposure.

David Turno is the Support Services Captain for the Aiken Department of Public Safety. He has a rare type of brain cancer and receives treatment at Duke University Cancer Center. He maintains a daily work schedule at ADPS. In his spare time, David supports Angels Among Us as well as other cancer charities.

Captain David Wright (retired) left the service in 2004 when he was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. Despite multiple bouts of cancer and recurring treatments, he maintains an active, healthy lifestyle with the support of his lovely wife Kristine.

David Edmiston is a career firefighter with Fort Gordon Fire Rescue. He has 30 years of firefighting experience. David's wife, Kathy, is battling breast cancer and despite frequent trips to the ER and Burn Center, they are never discouraged. Their Facebook posts are always positive and encouraging.

Chris Thompson is a 2016 recipient on behalf of his son, "Courageous Christopher". He has been a firefighter for Augusta Fire Department for over 20 years and is a Lieutenant at Engine Company 18. "Courageous Christopher" has a rare type of brain cancer.

Wayne Wingrove retired from the Augusta Fire Department in 2016 following a devastating illness directly associated with fireground activity. FF Tony Smiley, Vice President of FireK, presents Wayne with a check for $500.

Karlos Birt is a sergeant and career firefighter with 20+ years of experience with the Augusta Fire Department.
